What is the difference between these frame tents and the pole tents? Do you have any idea what kind of wind these tents can sustain?

Our Answer:

Pole type tents are extremely portable making them an ideal choice for those who have need of a party tent but have limited means of transporting their tent. You can even fit all the components of a 60x90 pole type tent in a standard 3/4 ton pickup bed. Traditional pole type tents provide more covered area for less money than any other type of tent. This makes a pole type tent ideal for covering extremely large areas efficiently. They cannot be free standing and must be well staked down. Frame style tents use a "skeleton" instead of poles and ropes and can be free standing in areas where stakes are not possible.(However, weights on the legs are advised in case there is an unexpected strong wind). They are not quite as portable since they are composed of many more rigid parts than a pole tent, however, they eliminate the need for a center pole. Unfortunately, due to the amount of framework and time needed to assemble them, they are not available in the same range of sizes as pole tents. The tent you are reviewing is rating for 75 mile per an hour winds.
