Our Answer:

We do not recommend installing gas logs inside your insert. We do not sell Lopi models, but all of our inserts do not make provisions for a gas log installation. Please check with the manufacturer or a local dealer for more information.

In Response to Question:

We live in Marin County, Novato, CA. We have a Lopi, wood burning fireplace insert with a thermostat and blower. We have used it to heated our entire home (1800 sq ft) for the last 27 years. We have never used the furance, Now, with the no burn days we have been forced to use the forced air gas furance. My question is, can we retrofit our Lopi wood burning insert to a gas log unit?
