When the fireplace is installed on a raised hearth, how high would the mantle be?

Our Answer:

This will depend entirely on how tall the raised hearth will be. Taking into account the minimum distance from the opening of the unit to the underside of the mantel, the closest the bottom of your mantel can be to the floor is 50 inches. This would be if the fireplace is sitting directly on the floor. The height of your hearth will add the same amount of height to the minimum height of the mantle. As an example, an 8 inch hearth would require a 58 inch minimum to the underside of the mantel.
