Our Answer:

First, please note that this item is only a vent-free firebox with no logs or burner included. You can use any properly-sized vent-free/ventless gas log set inside of it, however. These vent-free burners do not emit carbon monoxide, but rather carbon dioxide and water vapor. Yes, this firebox can be framed inside a combustible wall if the appropriate framing dimensions (listed on pages 4-7 of the owner's manual) are met. Please note the framing specs for the "VFD32" series for this 32-inch firebox. Heat output will depend on the log set that you choose to install inside this firebox. In Response to Question:

How does your insert deal with and remove carbon monoxide fumes from flue gas? You claim that unit is ventless, how do you deal with this extremely dangerous gas? Second: can this unit be installed against normal combustible wall as found in residential construction (sheet rock over 2" x 4" studs). Third: does the heating enclosure you sell depend totally on the type of burner insert logs to chemically remove carbon monoxide or does the unit contain some sort of catalytic converter that does all the removal?
