Is there any part of this unit that can rust?

Please see the manufacturer's comments regarding this specific issue in the "Cleaning Instructions" section of page 6 of the owner's manual. In summary, the manufacturer does acknowledge that while the unit is built with mostly high-quality stainless steel to prevent rust, outdoor applications will eventually develop a "dull patina," and in some cases (depending on the environment), rust. This will not effect operation of the fireplace, and, if cleaned regularly, the factory-new look can be maintained.
