I have a gas fireplace now and would like to convert it to a wood-burning fireplace. What would be involved to accomplish this with this product?

Our Answer:

If your fireplace was designed only for gas (direct vent, B-vent or vent-free), it cannot be converted to a wood-burning fireplace. If your fireplace was originally designed to burn wood (masonry or manufactured), and now has a gas burner installed, the burner will need to be completely removed. If you have a gas fireplace model, it will need to be removed and then replaced with a zero clearance wood-burning fireplace. A manufactured wood-burning fireplace will also require all new Class A chimney pipe.
