I just bought the Osburn 2200 and want to put it in the location of our old stove. I have the opening wrapped totally with 1/2" cement board and 1/2" tile. Can I be within 8" on the sides and back? There are no combustibles within 18".

Our Answer:

The tile and cement board will not increase the R value effectively to allow you to reduce the clearances from the stove to the wall. I would suggest using SBI Micore-300 Mineral Fiber Board to adequately reduce the clearances required for the stove.
