I have a Majestic UVC43 vent-free fireplace. The pilot light does not stay lit. It's about 12 yrs. old. What could be the problem?

Our Answer:

The most common cause of this issue with vent free fireplaces is a dirty pilot assembly. Lint and dust can build up on the pilot and cause the assembly to malfunction. I recommend using compressed air to blow the pilot assembly clean and try lighting it again. If the pilot will still not light, it is likely that the thermocouple has gotten weak and is no longer able to support the pilot flame.
