I need to light my firepit with some sort of alcohol to start the fire. What kind of fuel do I need to light the fire?

Our Answer:

When starting a wood fire in an outdoor firepit, dry pine or poplar kindling is usually the best material to get a good fire burning. If you must use a starting agent to get the fire burning, it is acceptable to use lighter fluid, typically the same variety that is used to start a charcoal fire. You will not need to saturate the wood, as you would with charcoal. A small amount will be sufficient to start a fire burning. Please let me know if I can assist you further.
