What keeps the heat from going up the pipe on my Napolean 1450 Wood Stove?

Our Answer:

The 1450 is an EPA type stove, which uses internal ceramic baffles, secondary air tubes, and an insulation blanket to limit the amount of heat that escapes to the chimney. These items, in conjunction with the air control lever, eliminate the need for a conventional damper.
