What does "vented" mean?

Our Answer:

Vented gas logs must use a functional existing chimney (either a clay flue within a masonry chimney or a manufactured metal Class A chimney pipe). They are burned with the flue open and cannot be used unless you have a masonry fireplace or a manufactured wood-burning fireplace tested and listed to accept gas logs. For more information about vented and ventless gas logs, please see our explanation on the bottom of this page.
