Our Answer:

In fact, Peterson gas logs are great products and we have enjoyed our relationship with this manufacturer. First of all, if you are interested in any sort of control valve, I would recommend that you also pursue replacing your current gas line and install a Peterson burner in its place. There would be no way to predict or ensure the proper operation of your current set up, if you were to simply add-on a valve. It would truly be best to replace the entire assembly. If you are interested in variable flame height operation, I'd like to recommend either Peterson's APK-15 or APK-17. If you would like, I can put together a burner and valve assembly recommendation for you. Simply reply with your fireplace dimensions (front width, rear width, depth and height) and I will find the best unit for you.

In Response to Question:

Hi, I want to hook up my rack and gas logs to a safety pilot light but I am not sure all what I need. If I could adjust the flame from low to higher that would be nice but the main thing is all I have is a gas line going into my fireplace and I am going from there and don't know that much. Can you hook me up and tell me what I would need and also the cost or itemize to buy. I heard Petersen is good... is that true? I have 18" log set and metal rack. No rocks or accessories.
