Our Answer:

I spoke with the technical department at Ambient Technologies and they reminded me that receivers with four-wire connectors are usually ones with a thermostatic control. In this case, since you are looking to replace your variable flame remote with a basic variable flame remote without thermostatic control (our RCBHC), you'll only need the two wires. These would connect right to your valve's height adjustment switch.

In Response to Question:

I need to replace my gas log remote controller - an ambient technologies rcmhl hi/lo remote control. I understand i have to replace both the transmitter and receiver, but in looking at the item #: cui-rcbhc, which appears to be the replacement unit, it shows having two wires to connect, while mine has 4. Can you advise on this discrepancy? I'd like to order, but want to be sure i get the correct unit that will hook up and operate without any complications.
