Why do I need a mixing chamber to start logs in my fireplace with Natural gas? I have installed drilled steel pipe with no mixing chamber as suggested from a Lowe's employee. Is it dangerous or just less efficient?

Our Answer: It is not required to have a mixing chamber with a natural gas log lighter, like it is with a LP lighter like this item. We sell natural gas log lighters both with and without mixing chambers. A mixing chamber would only be needed if you feel your natural gas flow is too concentrated or intense and you want to "thin it out" a bit.
