Do you need an existing chimney for this product, or is it vented out a different location?

Our Answer:

While you can indeed utilize an existing masonry chimney by using stovepipe and then a masonry thimble (if entering the chimney on the side) or simply using stovepipe and then liner (if going in through a masonry fireplace opening), this can also be vented with manufactured chimney. You would start by using 6" stovepipe until you get to your ceiling or wall, then you would transition to class A chimney pipe at the ceiling support box or thimble, respectively. You would then need to go vertically with class A chimney pipe until you terminate at least 3 feet above your roof. We would be happy to assist you with a chimney quote if you can give us more information about how you want to vent this stove.
