Our Answer:

This adaptor is designed for use with our Selkirk DSP Double-Wall stove pipe. This Double-Wall pipe only requires a 6" clearance to combustibles. As such, your 8" of brick would be sufficient. However, if you are intending to use Single-Wall pipe, 18" of clearance to combustibles must be maintained.

Could I use this piece of double wall stovepipe masonry adaptor instead of tearing my wall apart to try to extend the brick from 8" to 12"? The depth from the face of the thimble to the inside off the chimney is 12"'
