Can this product be used to replace the top panel in a gas fireplace?

Our Answer:

While it would be OK to use this as a panel in your gas fireplace, it is not recommended. You would be better finding a ceramic fiber panel to use, which would weight significantly less and would be less cumbersome to hold in place. With this panel, you would need to use a high-temperature adhesive for the ceiling of your firebox and clips on each edge of the panel to hold it in place. This panel is 3/4" thick and can be cut with a masonry blade to the size you need.
