Can I replace a propane gas Majestic fire place with a wood burner by changing the flue.

Our Answer:

If you want to take out an existing fireplace and replace it with a woodburning unit like this, yes, you would need to change the pipe as well. We sell the class A chimney pipe that you would need to connect to this 42" Royalton unit. However, you cannot simply change the pipe and then burn wood in a gas unit, as those fireboxes are not engineered to handle the heat of a true wood fire.
