I think this is the type fireplace I have already installed. My question is......How do I tell if I am circulating heat into the room. There is a lever on the left side wall but NO indication as to it being open or closed? What is open position? When "L"

Our Answer:

The louvers on this unit cannot be closed and you should always be circulating heat into the room. This process is aided by an electric blower that can be added to this model, if you don't already have one. The "L"-shaped handle you referred to is for opening and closing the damper at the top of the fireplace. Please see page 15 of the owner's manual for more information. The owner's manual can be downloaded on this item page.
