Our Answer: The stainless steel and ceramic facing kit that is used on an outdoor application does a very good job of insulating the unit and will be comparable to a high quality triple pane window in keeping cold air out of the home. I cannot say that I have heard of there being an issue with break ins through a see-thru fireplace. The outdoor facing kit is constructed of a very thick ceramic glass that is difficult to crack or break and the surround is not easy to remove quickly. Most likely, it would not be a target for a break in. From Page: MAJ-KST500SSDK Manufacturer's Product Number: KST500SSDK Our SKU: KST500SSDK Page ID: maj-kst500ssdk | |
