Our Answer:

According to the manufacturer, the current system can be replaced with either the RCK-I or RCK-B Acumen remote controls. The FDC-501 came in both AC and DC versions. If you have the DC version (operated by battery pack) the RCK-I is the remote you need. The RCK-B would be needed if the current system is operated by a standard wall outlet (110V). In Response to Question:

We have an older fireplace, Acumen Model RX05, with an Acumen Model FDC-501 remote control. It appears that our remote no longer works; we've been replacing batteries at an alarming rate and the remote finally will not respond. I can light our fireplace manually from the RX05 control box. We are looking for a replacement remote, and found several Acumen models that look very similar to ours; the remotes are the Acumen RCK series (RCK-D, I, IS, IW, and K). Will any of these replace our current kit? If so, which would be the best fit? If not, what would you recommend?
