Not to be too dense here, but have a used Buck stove installed for me as a fireplace insert, so do not know a model number. Want the coil handles instead of current wooden ones. Do I just remove the wooden handle and measure across the end of the metal

Our Answer:

You are precisely correct. Usually, these handles are designed to fit fairly standard sizes of round bar stock. 1/4" and 1/2" are the most common, but some stoves have 3/8" as well. If your stove seems to measure exact 1/2", this should be the handle for your needs.

Do I just remove the wooden handle and measure across the end of the metal handle?? I did that and it shows about 1/2 inch. Is this then the correct size to go with?
