I want to purchase this and put it in a corner. How far from the walls does this need to be, and do I have to put tile/brick/heat shield on the walls if they are just basic sheetrock, no matter how far away from the wall the unit is?

Our Answer:

If placed in a corner, a minimum of 12 inches must be maintained from the corners of the stove to the walls. If the unit is parallel with the walls, rather than angled, the clearance increases to 15 inches at the back and 18 inches at the side. It is not necessary to use a noncombustible material over the walls, as long as these clearances are maintained. You may choose to cover the wall for decorative purposes or if you must decrease the space even further.
