I have a house built in 1947 by my grandparents and the furnace needs to be replaced. The part that failed is no longer made. Is this furnace approved for use in California?

Our Answer:

This unit carries a CSA certification, which allows it to be installed in all U.S. states as well as Canada. However, I do recommend checking with your local code office prior to purchasing the unit. They will have final authority on use of gas appliances. The unit meets the CSA standard Z21.86b-2002 and the ANSI standard is Z2231. It is likely they will request these standards to verify local code compliance.
