Is this a free standing unit? I'm looking for a gas fireplace that doesn't need to be installed into the wall. I also want to transition from pellets and oil to natural gas.

Our Answer: This unit is designed to either be built into a wall enclosure or it can be framed into a decorative mantel that sits in front of the wall. The unit can be vented through the exterior wall or can be vented vertically through a chase wall. Would this type of installation work? We do have free standing stoves that are styled to look like a traditional wood stove as well.
